Competition Format & Rules
-
Format: Boat rogaining with an 8-hour control time.
-
Checkpoints: There are 30 control points on the course, with values ranging from 3 to 10 points each.

Team Size: 2 to 4 participants per team.

Regulations: The race is held in accordance with the international rogaining rules approved by the IRF and LOF. Full rules can be found on the Latvian Rogaining website (in Latvian).

Timing System: Checkpoint registration utilizes the SPORTIdent system. Each team member (boat) will be issued an SI card.

The 2-Minute Rule: All members of a team must punch into a checkpoint within 2 minutes of each other. If this window is missed, the point will not be counted.
Participation & Boat Classes
The competition area spans the waters of Lake Rušons. Allowed watercraft include paddle boats, kayaks, canoes, and SUP boards.
Team is up to 4 participants.

Age Limit: Children under 18 years old must navigate in a team alongside their parents or another adult.

Safety Restrictions: For safety reasons, single-seater kayaks (K1) and SUPs must team up and ride together in groups of 2 to 4 craft. Double-seater craft (K2, C2, VISTA) can register as a standalone team.

Awards

Finisher Memento: Every single participant who crosses the finish line will receive a commemorative award.

Podium Prizes: Special podium prizes are reserved for the top three places in each boat class.

Competition Clause: The top 3 places will only be awarded if there are more than 5 teams actively competing in that specific boat class.

If a boat class has fewer than 5 teams, only 1st place will be awarded.

Accommodation

Tents (Free): All participants are welcome to camp in their own tents free of charge within a designated territory. This area will be clearly marked during the event.

Holiday Home "Jāņi" (Paid): Shared guest house rooms with multiple bed spots (up to 7 participants per room). Rooms are separated strictly by gender (men's rooms and women's rooms).

1 Night: 20 EUR per person

2 Nights: 35 EUR per person

💡 What your registration fee covers: Organizational expenses, winner prizes, post-race dinner, access to the sauna, and a free campsite spot. All tournament competitors are welcome to stay overnight.
Important Rules & Safety

Environment: Please fiercely protect and respect both natural wildlife and man-made property.

Nature Reserve: The islands of Lake Rušons are designated Natura 2000 protected territories. Stepping foot or landing on any of the islands is strictly prohibited.

Safety Gear: A life jacket (safety vest) must be worn properly at all times while out on the water.

Navigation Restrictions: You are restricted to using a compass, a watch, and the official map provided at check-in. Any other electronic devices on hand must only be used for purposes completely unrelated to route navigation.
Mandatory Gear to Carry on the Water (Per Team):

[ ] Mobile Phone: At least one per team, completely turned off, packed in a reliable waterproof case, with a fully charged battery (strictly reserved for contacting organizers in an emergency).

[ ] Rations: Sufficient drinking water and a minimal emergency supply of food.

[ ] First Aid: A basic first aid medical kit.

[ ] Clothing: A change of dry clothes, packed securely in a waterproof bag.

[ ] Boat ID: Your personalized team number must be firmly attached to a highly visible spot on your watercraft.
