Competition rules

Competition date: August 8, 2026.

Competition location: Lake Rušons

Organizer: “Airē Latgolā” in cooperation with "Kajaku Mafija"

Competition Program:

9:00 – 11:00 Arrival of participants at the competition center, registration
11:00 issuance of maps, route planning
12:00 start of the competition
18:00 finish of the competition
18:30 end of the competition
19:00 award ceremony, closing event

Competition format: boat rogaining with a control time of 6 hours. There will be 30 control points with a value of 2 to 8 points on the course.

Rules: 2 - 4 participants start in a team. The competition takes place in accordance with the rules of rogaining competitions approved by the IRF and LOF. Rules are published on the Latvian Rogaining website (in Latvian).

Distance, registration:

Registration at checkpoints is carried out using the SPORTIdent registration system, using the SI card issued by the organizers for each team member (boat). All team members must register at the checkpoint within 2 minutes. If the registration time does not fall within 2 minutes, the point is not counted in the result.

Map scale will be 1:20000 (5 cm on map is 1 km in nature).

Participation:

Participation in the competition takes place with paddle boats, kayaks, canoes, and SUP boards. The competition area covers the entire Lake Ežezers.
Children under 18 years of age may participate in a team with their parents or other adults.
For safety reasons, single-seater kayaks (K1) and SUP start in a team of 2 - 4 kayaks.
Double-seater kayaks (K2, C2, VISTA class) can start as one team.

Boat classes:

K1 MEN - men's single kayaks (min 1xMAN+1xMAN)
K1 WOM - women's single kayaks (min 1xWOM+1xWOM)
K1 MIX - mixed single kayaks (min 1xMAN+1xWOM)
K2 MEN - men's double kayaks (min 1xK2MEN)
K2 WOM - women's double kayaks (min 1xK2WOM)
K2 MIX - mixed double kayaks (min 1x K2MIX)
C2 MEN - men's double canoes (min 1xC2MEN)
C2 WOM - women's double canoes (min 1xC2WOM)
C2 MIX - mixed double canoes (min 1xC2MIX)
SUP MEN (min MAN + MAN)
SUP WOM (min WOM + WOM)
SUP MIX (min WOM + MAN)
VISTA - Tourist kayaks (min. 2 people, all boats in one class)

Participant's responsibility.

In this type of competition, you must be aware of your physical strength, all participants are fully responsible for their actions and are aware that the organizers are not responsible for the health of the participants, possible injuries or equipment.
All participants will have to sign before the start that they are aware of the potential risk.
If someone needs help, they must help as much as possible.
The participation fee includes the organizational costs of the competition - prizes for the winner, dinner, sauna and tent space at the camping site "Speldziņi".
All participants can stay overnight.

Important!

Preserve and respect the values created by nature and private propoerties!
Only a compass, smartwatch and a competition map issued by the organizers may be used for navigation. Any other equipment and means may be used for purposes not related to navigation.
A safety vest must be worn throughout the entire distance.
Each team must bring a charged mobile phone, packed in a waterproof case, so that in case of an emergency, it is possible to contact the organizers.
Drinking water and a minimum amount of food.
First aid kit.
Spare clothes, packed in a waterproof case.
Personalized team numbers are intended for the recognition of participants. The numbers must be attached in a visible place on the boat

Boat rental

If necessary, a boat can be rented, but this must be indicated in the application and payment for the rental of equipment must be made in a timely manner. The rental price includes paddles, vests, as well as boat transportation to the start.
